The Visa Bulletin comes out once a month and nobody tells you when. You check on the first, then the fifth, then the ninth, and one of those times it is finally there.

Then you have to work out what the new number means for you, which is subtraction, but subtraction on two dates while you are anxious.

The Visa Bulletin

Set your priority date, category, and country. The app tells you how many days the cutoff still has to move to reach you, and how far it moved this month. Including the months it moves backwards.

Both charts are there, Final Action Dates and Dates for Filing, plus a home screen widget for the days you only want the number.

Pro sends a notification the day the bulletin lands, and the notification already contains the answer. You do not have to open anything to find out that nothing happened.

The civics test

All of the official USCIS questions, with the official answers, plus the 20 questions marked for applicants who qualify for the 65/20 exception.

USCIS changed the test on 20 October 2025, and which version you take depends on the day you filed Form N-400, not on when your interview is. Tell the app your filing date and it shows you the right one. Leave it blank and it says which version it is assuming.

The reading and writing vocabulary lists are in there as USCIS publishes them. Everything can be read aloud. The real test is spoken, and most people practising for it have never heard these sentences out loud.

Pro adds a mock interview that follows the rules for your version, and keeps the questions you missed.

Interview day

What to bring. What the officer asks. What happens if you fail one part but pass the other. How long the decision takes.

Every line on that screen came out of the USCIS Policy Manual or their own page about what to expect. Nothing on it is my summary of how these things usually go.

What it does not do

It will not fill in a form for you and will not tell you what to do about your case. I build software; I am not a lawyer, and this app cannot give legal advice about a denial or a Request for Evidence.

It does not track individual cases. There is nowhere to type a receipt number, and the app never contacts USCIS about your case. If you want case status, USCIS has its own site and app.

Privacy

There is no account and no email address.

If you turn on Visa Bulletin notifications, your priority date, category, and country go to my server, because that is where the notification text is written and your phone may be asleep when the bulletin comes out. Leave notifications off and none of that leaves the phone.

Civics progress stays on the phone either way and is never uploaded.
